Petra Edelmannová

Petra Edelmannová (born February 27, 1975 in Františkovy Lázně , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech politician . From 2004 to 2009 she was chairman of the nationalist party Národní strana (National Party) .

Life

Edelmannová graduated from the Mariánské Lázně School of Economics from 1989 to 1993 and then studied economics at the Economics Faculty of the West Bohemian University in Cheb . She completed her studies in 1996 with a diploma. This was followed by postgraduate studies in political science at Charles University in Prague from 1996 to 1999 , from which Edelmannová graduated with a master's degree.

Edelmannová worked at the Czech National Bank during her studies and has been  a controller at HVB Bank since 2001 . In 2008 she received her doctorate in political science from the University of Economics in Prague ; the title of her dissertation was "Česká identita, národní zájmy a pravicové politické strany 2002-2006" (German: "Czech identity, national interests and right-wing political parties 2002-2006").

In the Czech parliamentary elections in 2006, in which her party achieved 0.17% of the vote, Edelmannová had her party's first place on the list for the constituency of Karlovarský kraj . In addition to participating in right-wing extremist demonstrations and derogatory statements about the Sinti and Roma victims of the Lety concentration camp  , she caused a stir in 2008 with her call for a “final solution to the Gypsy question” and the underlying plan to relocate the Roma living in the Czech Republic to India.

She is married and has two children, a daughter and a son.
