Petra Gerstenkorn
Petra Gerstenkorn (born May 31, 1954 in Hamburg ) is a German trade unionist, member of the federal executive committee of the United Services Union (ver.di) and responsible for the education, science and research department as well as the special services department.
After graduating from high school in 1973, Gerstenkorn worked as a commercial clerk from 1974 to 1980. She then began studying law at the University of Hamburg. In 1987 she passed the first state examination in law. Immediately after graduating, she was a union secretary at ÖTV . She later rose to head of department and in 1996 she became deputy district chairwoman of the ÖTV district of Hamburg. From 2001 to 2015 she was a member of the federal board of ver.di.
Barleykorn is divorced and has no children.
