Petra Kappert

Petra Kappert (born April 3, 1945 in Berlin ; † May 23, 2004 in Berlin) was a German Turkologist .

Petra Kappert was Professor of Turkic Studies in the Department of History and Culture of the Middle East at the Asia-Africa Institute at the University of Hamburg . She published works on modern Turkish literature and was the German editor of contemporary Turkish literature. She took among others critical position against the decision of the Federal Constitutional Court , the shafts declared admissible.
