Petra Quillfeldt

Petra Quillfeldt is a German biologist . She is Professor of Behavioral Ecology and Ecophysiology at the University of Giessen .

Life

Petra Quillfeldt studied biology in Jena and graduated in 1998 with a diploma. From 2002 she did her doctorate on the food management of the red- legged petrels ( Oceanites oceanicus ) in a habitat that is subject to strong changes at the Free University of Berlin . Then she was u. a. Postdoc Fellow (DAAD) at the Institute of Biomedical and Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow and at the University of Cardiff. From 2006 to 2011 she headed an Emmy Noether junior research group at the Radolfzell ornithological station at the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology. Since 2012 she has been Professor in the Department of Animal Ecology & Systematics at the University of Giessen .

Research and Teaching

Quillfeldt's research deals with the ecology of marine birds, wild pigeons and songbirds. She teaches in the biological and ecological courses at the University of Giessen.
