Petra Winter (historian)

Petra Winter (* 1972 in Berlin ) is a German historian . Since 2015 she has been the director of the central archive of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin .

Life

Petra Winter studied history, Polish studies and archival science . In 2008, she was with a thesis on the history of the Berlin State Museums in West and East Berlin 1945 to 1959 in Modern and Contemporary History at the Humboldt University of Berlin received his doctorate .

From 2000 to 2008 Winter worked as an archivist in the central archive of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. From 2008 she was its deputy head. At the same time she was a research assistant for provenance research at the National Museums in Berlin. After Jörn Grabowski retired in September 2014, Winter took over as head of the central archive in April 2015.
