Petra Wittig

Petra Wittig (* 1962 ) is a German lawyer , former university professor and lawyer.

Life

Wittig studied law at the University of Munich from 1981 to 1987 . After passing the first state examination in 1987 and the second state examination in 1990, Wittig initially worked as a lawyer in a Düsseldorf commercial law firm until 1992. In 1992 she did her doctorate at the University of Passau under Bernhard Haffke , whose scientific assistant she subsequently became. She completed her habilitation in Passau in 2001 and received the venia legendi for the subjects of criminal law, criminal procedure law, criminology, legal sociology and legal theory.

Wittig then worked again as a lawyer in Munich. In 2005 and 2006 she represented chairs at the HU Berlin and the University of Munich. from 2007 to September 2018 she held a professorship for criminal law and legal philosophy at the University of Munich. Her research focus is in particular on white collar crime. Since October 2018 she has been working again as a partner in a law firm specializing in white-collar crime. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Munich.
