Petro Petrowytsch Dyminskyj ( Ukrainian Петро Петрович Димінський ; born November 27, 1954 in Krywyj Rih ) is a Ukrainian entrepreneur and sports official.

Life

Dyminskyj played for a few years in his youth for the football club Krywbas Krywyj Rih . He graduated from the mining academy of Krywyj Rih and worked in the Soviet Union first as an engineer and later as the head of an oil refinery .

After Ukraine gained independence in 1991, he pursued a business career and was temporarily the chairman of the supervisory board of the NPK Halychyna oil refinery. Today he is considered one of the richest men in Ukraine. From 2002 to 2005 he was a member of the Verkhovna Rada , the Ukrainian parliament.

Dyminskyj has been the president of the Karpaty Lviv football club since 2001 . After taking office, the team established itself in the top half of the Premjer-Liha table and took part in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League for the first time in the 2010/11 season .
