The Pechengafjord ( Russian Губа Печенга (Guba Petschenga) , Norway .: Petsjengafjorden , Petsjengabukta or Petsamofjorden ) is a 17 km long and 1 to 2 km wide fjord in the Murmansk Oblast in Russia .
It is about 25 km from the Norwegian border. The Pechenga River flows into the end of the fjord. There is also the city of Pechenga . On the west bank, halfway along the fjord, is Liinakhamari ( Finnish: Liinahammari ). This place was the only ice-free port in Finland from 1920 to 1944, when the Pechenga area was part of Finnish territory.
