The Peugeot Vogue was a moped by Peugeot that was produced until 2017. It was powered by a 2.7 hp two-stroke engine . The Vogue could also be converted into a moped . Their design was that of a classic moped. Technically, the Peugeot Vogue was based on the Peugeot 103 model (in turn related to the Peugeot 101 ). It was made in China at Jinan Qingqi .

design type

The Peugeot Vogue has a tubular steel frame with a frame tank made of sheet steel and is driven by a two-stroke engine with a displacement of 49 cm³ with membrane inlet control. Power is transmitted primarily via a continuously variable transmission (so-called torque converter, French: variateur ) and secondarily via a chain to the rear wheel. The front wheel is guided over a telescopic fork with coil springs. The rear wheel on a swing arm with two spring struts, the front pivot point of which is far in front below the tank in older versions. The newer models (Vogue Evolution or Vogue Euro 2) have a short swing arm. The single seat is designed as a swing saddle, the handlebar consists of two halves, the ends of which are inserted into the stanchions of the front fork.

engine

The single-cylinder two-stroke engine has a cubic capacity of 49 cm³ and has an inlet control via a membrane as a special feature. With this design, the mixture is sucked in by the carburetor directly into the crankcase via the negative pressure created during compression, the membrane made of thin sheet metal acts as a valve. In addition, the current model has a so-called three-channel engine (three transfer channels instead of two, as is common), which was previously reserved for models for the French market and which benefits performance. Unlike the previous models, the exhaust system is not screwed on with a union nut, but is held in place by a screw flange with two bolts. The exhaust system has what is known as exhaust gas recirculation, which in reality is a simple device (pulsair valve) for blowing fresh air into the exhaust, which supports the uncontrolled catalytic converter to `` afterburn '' the pollutants and oil particles in the exhaust, so to speak, and to comply with the Euro 2 standard and also protects the catalytic converter from premature clogging. The engine is operated with a two-stroke mixture in a ratio of 1:25. The engine is started with the pedals, there is no electric starter. A manual choke and a decompression device help when starting the engine, which makes it easier to crank the engine by temporarily bypassing the compression. The moped version of the vehicle is limited to 45 km / h via a CDI , the moped version to 25 km / h. It interrupts the ignition if the speed exceeds 6000 revolutions per minute (with a moped already at approx. 3000 revolutions per minute), which corresponds to a speed of 45 km / h with the standard secondary transmission (front 11 teeth, rear 56 teeth), with mopeds 25 km /H. This can never be exceeded even when driving down a steep hill, since the motor, which is now virtually switched off, acts as a brake due to its compression.

Drive and chassis

Power is primarily transmitted via an automatic centrifugal clutch with a continuously variable belt transmission and secondarily via a chain to the rear wheel. When the engine is idling, the engine power is not transferred to the belt drive; the centrifugal force only ensures that weights bring the clutch into engagement when the speed increases . The stepless power transmission is realized by a torque converter, which, also via movable weights, moves the outer V-belt pulley in the direction of the inner one with increasing speed and thus increases the effective diameter of the V-belt pulley. Since the diameter of the rear (larger) belt pulley remains constant, the motor moves slightly backwards in its mounting. A strong coil spring between the motor housing and the frame ensures that the V-belt is always correctly tensioned. The large belt pulley is mounted on the axis of the pedal cranks via a needle bearing and is connected to a chain pinion with 11 teeth on the inside. From there the power is transmitted via a chain to the sprocket with 56 teeth. The Peugeot Vogue is equipped with light alloy wheels, the tires are 2 1/4 - 16 in size.

Furnishing

Apart from the exhaust gas cleaning, the most numerous changes compared to the previous models can be found in the equipment details. So today there is an alternating current buzzing horn that was previously only available on models for the French market. There is also a key lock in the axis of rotation of the front wheel fork, which can be inserted into two eyes on the rear wheel swing arm as theft protection and at the same time prevents the engine from being started by unauthorized persons. The tire size of the current model has been reduced to 16 inches (previously 17 "). Both mudguards are made of painted plastic, the fuel tap is integrated into the side panel. In addition, all components required by the StVZO such as speedometer, rearview mirror, etc. are available.
