The Pfadi Aargau is a cantonal association of the Swiss Scout Movement (PBS). It comprises the corps and departments in the Swiss canton of Aargau . The Pfadi Aargau promotes the scout movement in the canton of Aargau, its objectives correspond to those of the Swiss scout movement.

history

The beginnings of the boy scout movement in Aargau go back to 1916. Four years after the founding of the Swiss Scout Association in 1912, scout groups were set up in both Baden and Aarau , but their activities stopped after a few years. The impetus for sustainable development was the establishment of the “Adler Aarau” department in 1919, which was soon followed by departments in Zofingen , Schafisheim , and later also in Baden, Rymenzburg and Schöftland . On March 13, 1920, the cantonal association was founded, with the main aim of joint leadership training, public representation and the promotion of the scout movement throughout the canton.

Towards the end of the twenties, rover groups were established locally , and groups for younger children, the so-called wolves , also emerged in the mid-thirties . There has been a Boy Scout Despite Everything department in the Baden region since 1978 . In the course of the seventies, an ever closer cooperation with the girl scouts developed in individual departments and later also at canton level. Mergers took place first at the departmental level, then in 1987 at the federal level and finally on January 14, 1989 between the two Aargau cantonal associations (boys and girls). The Pfadi Aargau in its current form was created.
