The Pfaffenberg is a 710 m high wooded mountain immediately north of the town of Schönwald , district of Wunsiedel , in the Fichtel Mountains in Bavaria.

Cross stone

The Kreuzstein stands on the southwestern edge of the mountain, on the northern outskirts of the town of Schönwald on the street Am Kreuzstein. It is a 120 cm high granite slab tapering towards the top with a chiseled cross on two semi-arches, embedded in a wheel-shaped structure. You can see horizontal and vertical structures in cross form and recurring carvings on the back. Nothing has been documented about the Kreuzstein.
