On January 18, 1885, the members of the Kottenheim Choral Society decided, with 51 votes against 32, to transform the society into the Kottenheim Parish Cäcilien Society. In § 1 of the new statutes it was said: "The Pfarr-Cäcilien-Verein aims, in connection with the Cäcilien-Verein, to elevate and promote church chant for all countries of the German tongue on the basis of church ordinances and to perform liturgical chant."

Renaissance recorder quartet

In 1981 a recorder group was founded "to promote youth work". Eight Renaissance recorders (1 sopranino flute, 1 soprano flute, 2 alto flutes, 2 tenor flutes and 2 bass flutes) were purchased. Under the direction of Anton Becker, young singers came together who, in addition to the regular choir rehearsals, met for a weekly rehearsal. Performances, often together with the church choir, took place over the next few years and they met regularly in changing line-ups until the end of the 1980s.

In 1998 the recorder quartet was revived by Anton Becker. The rehearsals took place every 14 days. Public appearances were also on the program again. The last appearance for the time being took place in 2008 at a concert on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the local community of Kottenheim.
