The Roman Catholic parish church Abfaltern is located in Abfaltern in the municipality of Abfaltersbach in the Lienz district in Tyrol . The church consecrated to St. Andrew belongs to the deanery Sillian in the diocese of Innsbruck . The church is a listed building .

history

In 1441 a new church and the cemetery were consecrated. From 1652 the church was a curate church. In 1765 it was converted to the Baroque style. The church was elevated to a parish church in 1891.

architecture

The Gothic church building - inside Baroque style - with a north tower is surrounded by a walled cemetery.

Furnishing

The high altar around 1765 with columns, pilasters, entablature and volutes shows the high altar painting Martyrdom of St. Andreas von Johann Mitterwurzer and carries the side figures Silvester and Nikolaus from the carver Johann Fasching.

The vault paintings were created by Josef Anton Zoller (1768/1780).
