Parish church in Alberndorf in Riedmark
The Roman Catholic parish church of Alberndorf in the Riedmark is slightly elevated on the main road in the village of Alberndorf in the Riedmark in the municipality of Alberndorf in the Riedmark in the Urfahr-Umgebung district in Upper Austria . The Church of the Assumption of Mary belongs to the Deanery Gallneukirchen in the Diocese of Linz . The church building is a listed building .
history
The church was built from 1842 to 1845 and became a parish church in 1845. In 1894/1895 the church received a new tower. The Mount of Olives was laid out in 1899. 1956/1957 was a renovation with a partial removal of the historical furnishings. In 1982/1983 the exterior was restored with a renewal of the tower roof. In 1987 the interior was restored with an extension of the gallery.
architecture
The church and the remains of the original furnishings typically show the art performance of the Vormärz. The architecture is a remarkable example of the sober reduction classicism.
The nave is a centralized hall with a wide domed square vault. The recessed rectangular choir, which is also vaulted, is just closing and has a semicircular sacristy extension at the head of the choir. On the south side of the nave and choir are small gabled passion chapels in the neo-renaissance style from 1899. In the west facade there is a ridge-like neo-Gothic tower.
The painting in the vault of the Coronation of Mary and the Annunciation was created by the painter Engelbert Daringer (1914).
Furnishing
Instead of a high altar, there has been a compilation of various elements on the choir wall since 1956/1957. The organ was built in 1958.
