Engelbert Daringer
Engelbert Daringer (born September 16, 1882 in Wildenau, municipality of Aspach am Inn ; † April 27, 1966 there ) was an Austrian church painter and restorer .
Training and work
Daringer was the son of a carpenter and attended the Königliche Kunstgewerbeschule Munich and from 1906 the Academy of Fine Arts Munich (drawing school Karl Raupp , Martin von Feuerstein ).
At the beginning of the 1920s, he designed a series of emergency notes from various clients. In 1923 he was one of the founding members of the Innviertel Artists' Guild and, after its re-establishment in 1947, was its first president and then honorary president. He was also a member of the Upper Austrian Art Association and employee of the magazine Mappe .
Engelbert Daringer is buried in the grave of the Daringer family in the Aspach cemetery. His great-nephew Manfred Daringer was also an artist, his nephew Otto Daringer a wood sculptor and another nephew Franz Daringer was a renowned church painter.
