In the eastern areas of the north and south walls of the nave, Romanesque parts are suspected. The choir was built in 1510/1520. In 1841 the nave was extended to the west and the west tower was built. In 1884 the nave was vaulted according to the plans of the architect Raimund Jeblinger . In 1911 the tower was built. 1970/1972 was a restoration. In 1971 a sacristy and a chapel were added to the north side of the nave, and in 1987 the cemetery was expanded to the west of it.

architecture

The buttress-less church building stands on a terrain rising to the east. It has a much lower floor level inside the choir than outside. The neo-Gothic three-nave, three-bay and groin-vaulted nave hall has very narrow aisles. The wide late Gothic choir with a ribbed vault has two bays with a flat three-sided end. The neo-Gothic west tower is slim. In the north are the additions of a sacristy, a chapel and a funeral hall.

The nave has a grooved eaves cornice and round as well as pointed arch, two-lane, neo-Gothic tracery windows from 1884. The late Gothic choir has a stepped base and an eaves cornice with two-lane late Gothic tracery windows. The saddle roof is hipped at the end of the choir. The tower has a pyramid helmet, the bell house has slender, domed, pointed arched windows.

The interior of the church shows unusual proportions in the nave, low neo-Gothic octagonal pillars with profiled capitals and above them particularly high stilted, pointed arched groin vaults with mighty dividing arches. A neo-Gothic shoulder arch portal in the north wall opens up the confessional chapel. In the southern corner of the choir there is the former vestibule portal to the broken sacristy. The west portal has a neo-baroque field door from the end of the 19th century. The neo-Gothic west gallery rests on segmented and round arched arcades and shows a coffered parapet. The late Gothic triumphal arch is chamfered. The tower has a groin vault on the ground floor. The staircase to the bell chamber leads via a cast iron spiral staircase.

The stained glass windows were created by Odilo Kurka , in 1974 in the nave, 1982/1987 in the choir.

Furnishing

The crucifix in the choir was created by Johann Langthaler in 1975. In the nave there are figures from the former neo-Gothic altars by Ludwig Linzinger , in the north Leonhard, Florian, Josef from 1896, in the south Notburga, Barbara, Maria from 1886, on the west gallery Petrus, Katharina, Paulus from 1894. The crucifix in the confessional chapel is from the second quarter of the 18th century. A holy grave from 1910 is in safekeeping. Engelbert Daringer painted the Stations of the Cross in 1914. On the first floor of the tower there is a Pietà by Franz Xaver Fuchs in 1934. Karl Spindelberger created the baptismal font and the popular altar in 1975. A neo-Gothic altar table from 1896 is in the confessional chapel. The holy water font is from the 17th / 18th centuries. Century.

The organ was built in 1996 by Martin Pflüger with an unequal tuning, I Man./8 1/2 Reg. A bell was cast around 1330.
