The local "Innbruckamt" administered the Innbrücke and the Leprosen-Hospital as well as the parishes incorporated into the St. Aegidien Hospital, which were to be assigned by the respective "Bruckpfarrer". In addition to St. Severin with Schardenberg and Wernstein , these included St. Weihflorian , Kellberg , Hauzenberg , Kopfing, Münzkirchen and Tettenweis .

The first battles of the War of the Spanish Succession took place in Kopfing . The Imperial Austrian troops attacked the Bavarian town of Kopfing in November 1703. The Kopfinger resisted courageously and shot out of the church tower ( defensive tower ). This war then dragged on until 1706, at the end there was the Battle of Höchstätt, the Sendlinger Murder Christmas (Munich) and the Peasant Battle of Aidenbach. Today, Aidenbach is the new partner municipality of Kopfing alongside Ringelai / Bavaria. Original trenches and old boundary stones in Kopfing still bear witness to this past. Kopfing came to Austria after the Treaty of Teschen and the Innviertel (then 'Innbaiern'). In 1785 Kopfing was raised to a parish. During the Napoleonic Wars briefly Baierisch again, the place has been part of Upper Austria since 1814. In 1905 the new parish church in Kopfings was completed.

After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on March 13, 1938, the place belonged to the Gau Oberdonau . After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria took place.
