In 1481 Sigmund Auckhentobler built a chapel in the village in honor of St. Wolfgang and consecrated it as a branch church in 1501.

The area was ecclesiastically part of the parish Taiskirchen im Innkreis , but under state law it did not belong to Bavaria as it did then, but to the Habsburg Empire .
