history
The area around the village is likely to have been settled by Celts in antiquity. Finds from the Neolithic and the Bronze Age as well as many stream and river names of Celtic origin suggest this; at the turn of the time the area fell to the Romans.
The village Angsüß was first mentioned in a document in 788 as Aninsieza , today part of Diersbach, which was first mentioned in 1125 as Tirespach . In the Middle Ages there were some important noble residences in and around Diersbach, namely in today's districts of Kalling , approx. 1100–1500, Edenwiesen , approx. 1200–1470 / 80 and Waldeck , approx. 1100–1400. There is also a legend about the latter castle, according to which there is a treasure guarded by crowned snakes under the castle cone - today's coat of arms also refers to this legend.
Since the founding of the Duchy of Bavaria , the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to Austria after the Treaty of Teschen with the Innviertel (then Innbaiern ) . During the Napoleonic Wars briefly royal Bavarian again , it has finally belonged to Austria ob der Enns since 1814 and has shared its history since then. Until the end of 2002, the community belonged to the Raab judicial district , after its dissolution it was assigned to the Schärding judicial district.
Population development
In 1991 the municipality had 1,685 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 it had 1,693 inhabitants. The increase occurred because the birth balance was more positive than emigration. From 2001 to 2011 the birth balance decreased, the negative balance of migration increased, so that the population decreased to 1,614 in 2011 and to 1,583 in 2018.

Culture and sights
- Parish church Diersbach : The church gained national fame, especially as the "Leaning Tower of the Innviertel". The tower stands on a sliding slope and could only be saved by renovating the foundations between 1988 and 1991. The church was built in 1432 in the Gothic style with a pointed tower. After a fire in 1716, when the church was rebuilt it was given its current appearance with a mighty onion dome. The main altar and both side altars are in the Renaissance style. The high altar picture was designed by Caspar Jelle from Innsbruck in 1862. Mention should also be made of Dr. Organ donated to Karl Mayr and named after him from the workshop of Alfred Führer , which was inaugurated in 1996 and is the fourth largest in the Innviertel.
