Markus Obereder

Markus Obereder (* 1970 in Grieskirchen ) is an Austrian musician and choir director .

Markus Obereder comes from Diersbach in Upper Austria. He studied music education, instrumental music education and choir and orchestral conducting at the Mozarteum University of Music and at Louisiana State University .

Obereder teaches at the Musisches Gymnasium and the Mozarteum Salzburg . He was the director of the Juvenis Choir , the girls' and high school choir of the Musisches Gymnasium, the International Choir Week in Zell and youth advisor for the Austrian Choir Association . With his choirs, Obereder has won several choir competitions (for example Austria Cantat 06 , final of the EBU choir competition “Let the Peoples Sing” in October 2007) as well as successes in the youth choir competition in Celje / Slovenia, in 2005 in the Schubert choir competition in the Vienna Konzerthaus.

After 15 years, Markus Obereder has resigned from the direction of the Juvenis choir he founded and lives in Salzburg.

In popular music he can be found as a singer and instrumentalist in the so-called “fiber orchestra”.
