Josef Mayer (politician, 1868)
Josef Mayer Sr. (Born August 9, 1868 in Diersbach ; † July 23, 1940 in Taufkirchen an der Pram ) was an Austrian politician ( GdP , LB ), farmer and entrepreneur .
Private
Josef Mayer first attended the elementary school in Diersbach, then from 1880 the agricultural school in Ritzlhof . This was followed by stays in various farms. In 1893 he married Theresia Geisberger, a baker's daughter from Kalling . Her parents had previously acquired the inn in 1891 from the estate of the Dabon'schen possessions (formerly the castle tavern). On the wedding day, they took over the business with around 40 yokes . Between 1915 and 1937 Josef Mayer also traded cattle. The early death of his son Josef Mayer jun. 1937 was very close to him. He then resigned a large part of his public offices and concentrated on the local hospitality and agricultural operations.

- 1893: Foundation of the Diersbach Volunteer Fire Brigade
- 1894: Foundation of the Taufkirchen an der Pram volunteer fire brigade and its commander until 1904
- 1897: Founding of the "advance payment association for the local and parish community Taufkirchen" (from 1943 Raiffeisenkasse )
- 1902: Founding chairman of the "Theebutter-Vertriebsgenossenschaft", whose chairman he is the next 38 !! Years stayed
- 1903: Board member of the "Schärdinger Teebutterzentrale" (later Schärdinger Dairy Cooperative )
- 1911: Chairman of the agricultural district association Schärding
- 1914: Chairman of the Wels Farm Loan
- Chairman of the supervisory board of the Simmentaler Fleckviehzuchtverein
