Paul Zauner (born December 3, 1959 in Diersbach ) is an Austrian jazz trombonist , music producer and organic farmer .

Zauner, a trained agricultural engineer, studied both veterinary medicine and music in Vienna . During this time he switched from the piano to the trombone . From the mid-1980s he played with Bumi Fian , Woody Schabata , but also with Leon Thomas , George Adams , David Murray , Leopoldo Fleming , Hamiet Bluiett and Jean-Paul Bourelly . With Franz Hackl he founded the band ITSLYF in 1992, in which Thomas Kugi, Gottfried Stöger, David Gilmore , Kenny Davis , Rodney Holmes and Pavan Kumar toured worldwide between 1992 and 1997 ; The "Guide of Jazz and Blues" not only rated the album Hep Caolin recorded with the band with five stars, but also named it one of the best CDs of the century. Zauner also belonged to Blue Brass , in which musicians such as Clemens Salesny , Wolfram Derschmidt , Mansur Scott, Dwight Trible and Donald Smith played. With Thomas Wall and Wolfram Derschmidt he forms the trio Ars futura . He also goes on tour every December with his Allstars, with whom he also released several albums. Zauner also works as a music producer for his label PAO and as a concert organizer. Every year at Whitsun he organizes the INNtöne Jazz Festival on his farm ; He is also a curator for jazz at the Brucknerhaus in Linz and oversees the jazz program of several venues in Passau.
