The parish church of Allerheiligen bei Pöls is located in Allerheiligen bei Pöls in the municipality of Pöls-Oberkurzheim in the Murtal district in Styria . The Roman Catholic parish church , consecrated on the feast of All Saints' Day , belongs to the Judenburg deanery in the Graz-Seckau diocese . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

A church was documented in 1160. The church, which was initially consecrated to St. Margaret, was consecrated on All Saints' Day in 1450. The church was a branch of Pöls until 1786, then a local chaplaincy, and became a parish church in 1892.

The late Gothic renovation and new building was around 1450. The neo-Gothic exterior design and the tower are from 1863.

architecture

The three-bay nave has a vault with star ribs with escutcheons on brackets. The west gallery is an installation from the end of the 19th century. The strongly constricted front arch is ogival. The retracted single-bay choir under a star rib vault on semicircular services closes with a five-eighth closure . The portals on the tower and the sacristy are pointed arches. The pointed arch windows have stained glass from 1896/1897 by Ed. Chair from Graz. The tower in the southern choir corner with an eight-sided pointed spire and the west facade are neo-Gothic.

The vault in the parish choir contains a sheet mask from the 14th century.

Furnishing

The high altar, formed from a circle of clouds without an architectural structure, has many figures of saints and was created by Balthasar Prandtstätter in 1728 . The tabernacle is from 1896. The neo-Gothic side altars are from the end of the 19th century. The pulpit with a basket made of clouds, with evangelist symbols, on the banister with a relief of Jacob's ladder, back wall relief of Christophorus, on the sound cover Faith and Hope, at the top the Lamb of God, was created by Balthasar Prandtstätter in 1728. The high altar and pulpit were built by Michael Eisenschmidt in 1729.

The organ was built by Carl Billich (1884).

There is a figurative Roman stone on the nave.
