The parish church of Bruck am Ziller stands in the middle of the village of the municipality of Bruck am Ziller in the district of Schwaz in the state of Tyrol . The patronage of St. The Roman Catholic parish church subordinated to Leonhard von Limoges belongs to the deanery in Reith im Alpbachtal in the Archdiocese of Salzburg . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

A church was documented in 1337. The church was elevated to a parish church in 1891.

architecture

The baroque hall building with a Gothic choir and a north tower is surrounded by a cemetery. Outside, on the south side, the church shows the fresco St. Christophorus with coat of arms in 1718 and the Stations of the Cross painted on the outside of the nave in 1735, partly destroyed.

The interior of the church shows a four-bay nave under a lancet barrel vault on pillars. The frescoes show the Saints Joseph, Maria with Child, Joachim, Anna, Johannes the Baptist and the four church fathers in Grisaille 1822. The choir arch shows bandwork stucco around 1730. The choir shows preserved Gothic ribs and rich acanthus stucco from 1648. In the tower ground floor there is a ribbed vault with a round keystone.

Furnishing

The high altar as a baroque column altar bears the statues Ulrich and Leonhard by Josef Martin Lengauer in 1768.

There are wall reliefs of Christ and the Twelve Apostles around 1500.
