The Roman Catholic parish church in Buch is located in Heimen in the municipality of Buch in the Bregenz district in Vorarlberg . The parish church of Peter and Paul is part of the Bregenz deanery of the Feldkirch diocese . The church is a listed building .

history

A chapel was mentioned in a document in 1484. The place was initially a branch of Bregenz and from 1512 of Wolfurt. A chaplaincy in 1506/1508. After a structural expansion, a parish was built in 1760. The church was rebuilt in 1794, extended in 1869 and consecrated in 1875. A restoration took place from 1951. In 1969 the choir and the church exterior were restored. In 1969/1970 the cemetery was expanded. In 1980 the interior was restored.

architecture

The church is a classicist building with a retracted choir with a three-eighth closure under a shared gable roof with a north tower and an attached cemetery.

Furnishing

The high altar was given a new cafeteria in 1980. On the front wall of the choir is a fresco crucifixion with Mary, Johannes and Magdalena. The left side altar shows the fresco Nativity on a wooden panel. The right side altar shows the fresco of the Ascension of Christ on a wooden panel. All frescoes were painted by Andreas Brugger (1794).

The Mayer brothers (1983) built the organ in a new case .
