Parish church Dietmannsdorf an der Wild
The parish church Dietmannsdorf an der Wild is slightly elevated west of the Angers in the village of Dietmannsdorf an der Wild in the municipality of Brunn an der Wild in the Horn district in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to St. Lawrence of Rome belongs to the deanery Horn in the diocese of St. Pölten . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
Initially a branch of the mother parish Neukirchen an der Wild, a pastor was appointed in 1347. At the end of the 16th century a vicariate was given to the Jesuits and later reunited with the mother parish. In 1784 the church was elevated to a parish church and incorporated into Altenburg Abbey.
architecture
The initial Romanesque rectangular room with a square north tower from the 13th century was Gothicized in the 15th century. In 1666 the church was redesigned in Baroque style and expanded with a low choir closed on four sides. In 1889/1991 the church was extended to the west and renovated.
The church is surrounded by the former walled churchyard with quarry stone masonry.
Furnishing
The high altar from 1688 has spiral columns covered with vine leaves.
The organ was built by Franz Capek (1914).
