Katja Preuß (* 1978 in Cottbus ) is a German actress and speaker.

Life

Katja Preuss grew up in her hometown Cottbus and from school in Eisenach on. She made her first acting experience in the Eisenach Theater Youth Club. She was also active as an extra at the State Theater in Eisenach .

Even as a child, Preuss wanted to become an actress. After graduating from high school, she completed her acting studies at the Saarland University of Music and Theater from 1997 to 2001 . During her studies she already had a guest contract at the Theater Koblenz . In the 2000/01 season she was engaged at the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken , where she played "The Girl" in Outside Front of the Door .

With a two-year contract, she was engaged at the Munich Theater for Children from 2001 to 2003 . She then gave German lessons to foreign employees of international companies at a Munich language school. In 2005 she accepted an engagement at the Landesbühne Sachsen-Anhalt in Eisleben , initially as a pregnancy substitute , where she stayed until 2009. She then worked for two years as a freelance actress, but continued to work in Eisleben with a guest contract.

From 2012 to 2016 she was an actress in the permanent ensemble at Theater Naumburg , where she played numerous roles in classical and modern theater, a. a. die Effi Briest (2012, directed by Paul Sonderegger), Paulina in Der Tod und das Mädchen (2012, directed by Jutta Schubert ), Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream (2012, directed by Alvaro Schoeck ), Brunhild in Die Nibelungen (2014, directed by: Alvaro Schoeck), Suzanne in Die Hochzeit des Figaro (2014, directed by Jutta Schubert) and Mrs. Brigitte in Der zerbrochne Krug (2016, directed by Stefan Neugebauer ).

She had great success at the Naumburg Theater with the role of Charlotte von Stein in the one-person play A Conversation in the Stein House about the absent Herr von Goethe , which she played there under the direction of Susanne Schulz . With this role she also made guest appearances at the Ansbach Theater in 2017 .

As a part-time job, Preuss qualified as a theater pedagogue and worked as a full-time theater pedagogue at the house from mid-2015 until the end of her engagement in Naumburg.

In addition to her theater work, Preuss also appeared in front of the camera for several TV productions. She took on guest roles a. a. in the television series In allerfreund (2013), SOKO Wismar (2016), Ein Fall von Liebe (2016) and several times in SOKO Leipzig . From March to June 2019, she had a continuous series role in the ARD television series Rote Rosen as dental assistant Agnes Fuchs, who turned into the married dentist Dr. Margret Merz ( Solveig August ) in love.

Katja Preuß works intensively as a speaker for radio plays and audio books . She recorded numerous audio media for the German Central Library for the Blind in Leipzig . Katja Preuß is a member of the Federal Drama Association . She lives in Leipzig .
