Jutta Schubert is particularly interested in the White Rose . In the 1990s she researched the members' surroundings, in archives, conducted numerous interviews with contemporary witnesses and processed the material in the play The White Rose. From the Archives of Terror , which was premiered in 2004 by the Junge Schauspiel Ensemble München under the direction of Michael Stacheder in the Reithalle München. In the Süddeutsche Zeitung it says about a later performance:

“Some stories are told so often that they seem to lose all charm. But then someone comes along who brings it back to life and suddenly it's like you've never heard it before. […] The stage version of JSEM is such a case. There is not much more to add to the flood of films and books about the Munich resistance group in the Third Reich, and after the successful theatrical version at the latest, the images of the god-fearing, heroic Sophie Scholl, embodied by Julia Jentsch, have become deeply engraved - burned into the media's memory - despite heavy criticism from historians. [...] But director Michael Stacheder and his company do everything differently - and they do it better. "

In 2013, her novel Zu blau der Himmel was published in February , in which she works on the days of Alexander Schmorell's failed escape on the basis of her extensive research material. In the Wiesbadener Tagblatt it says:

“In her book, which has not become a biography, Jutta Schubert wanted to make clear the feelings of the protagonist and those around him, the fragility in which he moves, which he feels. She succeeds in doing this with oppressive urgency. Fears and the power of circumstances speak from the text, in which the author assumes the role of "contemporary witness of contemporary witnesses" of her own choosing. "
