Kulturmaschinen is a German book publisher based in Hamburg , which was founded in 2008 in Berlin-Kreuzberg . The Kulturmaschinen publishing house has been exhibiting at the Leipzig Book Fair and the Frankfurt Book Fair since 2009 .

Publishing program

In addition to philosophy, the publisher also publishes novels and poetry . The focus is on a fiction program with high-level literature and non-fiction books on left philosophy. He is one of the German independent publishers . The publisher also publishes GDR literature that fell victim to the spoilage of stocks in 1991 . The publishing house was reorganized in 2019. The authors' association, which was formed from the published writers, monitors, coordinates and plans the content-related publishing business. All members of the association act equally. New members can only be accepted after a positive majority decision. For this purpose, a work must also be submitted whose literary quality is rated positively. Recordings that are not work-based are not provided as a rule in the statutes.

The commercial director is the managing director of Kulturmaschinen UG, Sven j. Olsson . The UG belongs solely to the association. The chairman of the association is the writer Reimer Eilers .

The “literary management” of the publishing house has been with the association's members since June 2019, while the publisher Kulturmaschinen UG is in charge of the commercial management. The change of the publishing house to an association of authors goes back to Leander Sukov, who was previously in charge of the content.
