history

A parish was mentioned in 1250 as the founding of the Liechtenstein family.

The new church was built in 1900/1901 on the site of the previous church with a foundation from Johannes II Liechtenstein according to the plans of the architect Karl Weinbrenner .

architecture

The remarkably uniform neo-Gothic church building on the site of an older church is surrounded by a churchyard wall.

A lower retracted choir adjoins the high nave under a steep pitched roof with a ridge turret. The four-sided, mighty west tower has been broken open on the top floor with ogival niches and above it carries a tapering octagonal bell storey with a steep pointed spire.

The interior of the church shows a four-bay nave under a groin vault, behind the pointed triumphal arch there is a single - bay retracted choir with a five-eighth end under a groin vault.

Furnishing

The furnishings are uniform from the construction period. The altars were designed by Karl Weinbrenner.

The organ was built by the Rieger brothers (1901).
