Eichenbrunn parish church
The parish church Eichenbrunn is in the village Eichenbrunn in the municipality Gnadendorf in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Koloman belongs to the Ernstbrunn deanery in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg in the Archdiocese of Vienna . The church is a listed building .
history
The place Eichenbrunn is a street village along the Zaya west of Gnadendorf. A vicariate after 1469, Eichenbrunn was mentioned in a document as a parish in 1662. The baroque building around 1700 with a north aisle from 1731 was rebuilt and expanded in 1950 with the architect Josef Vytiska and consecrated in 1951.
architecture
The thoroughfare widens lenticularly around the parish church. The parish church forms the center of the village with the rectory to the north and the elementary school.
The simple church building is supported by a high sloping base because of the sloping terrain in the north and east. The three-storey tower is not in the middle because of the addition of a side aisle and has a pyramid helmet and the baroque stone figures of Hll in three niches. Josef, Florian and Koloman. Stone grave crosses from 1709 and 1713 are on the west facade. A staircase to the north-facing street has baroque putti on low pillars.
The interior of the church with a flat ceiling in the nave and choir shows reliefs of Christ and the Lamb of God and on the balustrade of the organ gallery David with harp by the sculptor Karl Jamöck. Frescoes on the east wall of the nave and the east wall of the choir show John the Evangelist, Mary and Christ.
Furnishing
Two baroque oil paintings Birth of Jesus and Trinity are from the 3rd quarter of the 18th century. The oil painting Holy Family was painted by the painter W. Heubel (1895).
The organ by Johann M. Kauffmann (1911) was rebuilt in 1951.
