The Roman Catholic parish church Fraxern is in the Fraxern community in the Feldkirch district in Vorarlberg . The parish church , consecrated to St. James the Elder , belongs to the Rankweil deanery of the Feldkirch diocese . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .

history

A chapel and parish were mentioned in documents in 1502. On the site of a church, a new church was built between 1900 and 1911 with the architects Anton Wilhelm and Michael Keckeis and the master carpenter Simon. The church was consecrated in 1905.

architecture

A recessed lower choir adjoins the high neo-Gothic nave under a gable roof. The north tower is by the choir. A two-story sacristy is attached to the south of the choir. To the north there is a walled cemetery.

Furnishing

Fidelis Rudhart (1901) created the high altar as a structure with the figures .
