A chapel has survived as early as 1687 and became a parish curate in 1716. The church was built between 1760 and 1762 according to the plans of Kaspar Waldner and consecrated in 1770. In 1862 the church was extended to the west and the altars and the pulpit were redesigned by the painter Johann Michael Zündel. In 1883 the Josefskirche was elevated to a parish church.

architecture

The church has a nave with a vaulted ceiling and a retracted vaulted choir and a north tower with an onion helmet with an attached sacristy near the choir.

The ceiling paintings Joseph in Egypt and Death of Joseph by the painter Linus Seif from the 18th century were covered by new ceiling paintings Annunciation , Birth of Christ , Holy Family and Rosary Madonna by the painter Anton Marte during the church restoration in 1908 . The stained glass windows from 1908 are from Vorarlberger Glasmalerei in Dornbirn.

The organ from 1865 by Alois Schönach was rebuilt in 1895 and expanded in 1944.
