Parish Church of Haitzendorf
The Roman Catholic parish church of Haitzendorf is in Haitzendorf in the market town of Grafenegg in the Krems-Land district in Lower Austria . The church consecrated to St. Ulrich - incorporated into the Herzogenburg Abbey - belongs to the Hadersdorf dean's office in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The church is a listed building .
history
The initial church of St. Martin from the 11th century stood in Marquartsurfar near Donaudorf and became a parish church in 1160. The parish church was moved to its present location in 1336/1337 due to destruction by floods and rebuilt. In 1783 the church was incorporated into the Herzogenburg Abbey. In 1895 a renovation took place. The church was restored in 1967/1969 outside and from 1980 inside.
architecture
The parish church stands in the middle of the village on the thoroughfare, to the west of it is the rectory, in the north is the cemetery. A Baroque nave from the first half of the 18th century stands between a Gothic west facade with a Gothic west tower and a Gothic east choir from the 16th century.
Furnishing
The sarcophagus altar with a reredos with pillars and pilasters and a curly volute was built before 1794 has a tabernacle with a volute canopy and carries a statue of St. Augustine. The high altar sheet fish legend of St. Ulrich with a city vedute in the background, painted by Bartolomeo Altomonte (1780), was restored in 1971.
The organ with a case with a music-making angel and carved vegetal decoration around 1780 has an organ by Ignaz Gatto the Younger (1781). Franz Rodtlmayer (1770) cast a bell.
