Halbturn parish church
The Roman Catholic parish church of Halbturn is located on the church square at the north end of the Angers in the municipality of Halbturn in the Neusiedl am See district in Burgenland . The parish church of St. Josef belongs to the dean's office in Frauenkirchen in the Eisenstadt diocese . The church is a listed building .
history
The consecration of an older church building was mentioned in a document in 1714. The pre-Reformation parish was rebuilt in 1786. The reconstruction and expansion of the church was carried out according to a design by Josef Emanuel Fischer von Erlach around 1730. The church was renovated in 1856 and restored in 1976/1978.
architecture
The three-story west tower has an eight-sided stone pyramid helmet. The nave with a wide short transept and a retracted semicircular choir has a sacristy extension to the south and an oratorio extension to the north of the choir.
Furnishing
The splendid neo-baroque high altar is from the first quarter of the 18th century.
