Parish Church of the Holy Spirit (Linz)
The parish church of the Holy Spirit is a Roman Catholic church in Dornach in the St. Magdalena district of Linz .
The church was consecrated on November 7, 1971 by the then Auxiliary Bishop Alois Wagner . The bishop, Josef Schoiswohl , gave the festive sermon quietly .
The church with parish center was built from 1966 to 1967 according to the plans of the architects Erich Scheichl and Franz Treml. The church is a massive exposed concrete building with ribbon windows running over the corners in the upper area. On the outside, the building shows two mighty portals to the forecourt, on which a free-standing bell bearer is erected. The flat roof, which is slightly raised in the middle, has a cross. Inside there is a central room with a square floor plan with four indented slender columns that form a cross in cross section. To the north is a lower weekday chapel with adjoining rooms. Behind it runs a covered corridor to the parish hall and the kindergarten.
The uniform furnishings of the church, with altar, tabernacle, baptismal font and holy water basin, were designed by the sculptor Jakob Kopp. In the church there is a late Gothic figure of Mary with child from the end of the 15th century, the figure of the risen figure from the 2nd half of the 16th century and a drained crucifix from the 1st quarter of the 19th century. The tapestry was designed by Fritz Riedl in 1968 . The nativity scene was built in 1983 by the sculptor Josef Sepp Moser. The Way of the Cross was created in 1995 by the artist Tony Nwachukwu . The figure of St. Antonius from 1993 comes from the sculptor Friedrich Wipplinger.
In the weekday chapel there is a crucifix from the end of the 18th century and a Pietà from the 20th century.
The organ was built by Fritz Schild from 1984 to 1988.
