The Roman Catholic parish church of Klöch is in the market town of Klöch in Styria . The parish church of St. Georg belongs to the Radkersburg deanery in the Graz-Seckau diocese . The church is a listed building .

history

The church was mentioned in documents in 1350 as the Wolfsauer's own church. From 1623 to 1624 the church was rebuilt. In 1929 the church was restored.

architecture

The three-bay nave has groin vaults on pillars. On the 3rd yoke the church expands with two square chapels with stucco groined vaults. The three-axis organ gallery on four columns and with a swinging parapet is from the 3rd quarter of the 18th century. The slightly drawn-in two-bay choir with a straight ending has oratorios on the side. The square north tower was built according to the inscription in 1693 and raised in 1825.

The high altar

The church has a late baroque interior. The high altar with a column structure and figures is from the 3rd quarter of the 18th century with the Johann Nepomuk glory, the chapel altars and the oratorio balconies. The pulpit was created by the sculptor Johann Piringer (1772). There is an 18th century crucifix.

The organ is from 1873.
