The parish church of Klagenfurt-Annabichl is located in Thomas-Schmid-Gasse in the Annabichl district in the municipality of Klagenfurt am Wörthersee in Carinthia . The Roman Catholic parish church , consecrated to the Holy Blood of Christ , belongs to the dean's office in Klagenfurt-Stadt in the diocese of Gurk-Klagenfurt . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

In 1928 an emergency church was set up in a former barn by missionaries from the Precious Blood . In 1947 it was elevated to parish church. The current church was built in 1964/1965.

architecture

The church with a rectangular floor plan has an attached tower on the southeast corner. The short, drawn-in choir has a straight ending and high windows. There are sacristy extensions on the west and east sides.

The interior of the church shows the nave and choir under a flat ceiling, the nave windows are arched.

Furnishing

A large crucifix from the 17th century hangs on the choir wall. Baroque figures Archangel Michael and Raphael with Tobias stand on the side walls of the nave.

Anton Artl created the high-quality carving group Maria and Annunciation Angel around 1760.

On the right triumphal arch wall there is a tabernacle in modern driving work by the goldsmith Julius Wantsch Vienna 1971.
