history

As early as the 10th century there was a wooden church in Kleinmünchen, the place was an independent community until 1923. The first church location was at Dauphinestraße 40. Kleinmünchen has been an independent parish since 1784, and since 1876 it has been incorporated into St. Florian Monastery. The old church in need of renovation was sold to a private person in 1919 due to a lack of interest in its preservation and demolished in 1930.

Today's church in Zeppelinstrasse was built from 1905 to 1906 according to plans by the Linz cathedral master builder Matthäus Schlager in a late historical mixed style and consecrated in 1906. The parish church of Oberndorf near Salzburg , also built later by Schlager, is almost identical to the church in Kleinmünchner. The chancel was redesigned in 1988 by Jakob Kopp . The crucifix was made by Aegidius Gamsjäger , the Maria and Johannes figures by Alois Radlmayr . The organ was built by Wilhelm Zika in 1958.

Dimensions of the church

The church is 49.4 m long and 19.5 m wide. The interior height is 16.35 m, the tower reaches 58.8 m. The capacity is about 1000 people.
