The Roman Catholic parish church Lackenhof is raised on the northwestern outskirts of Lackenhof in the market town of Gaming in Lower Austria . The parish church of St. Leonhard belongs to the Scheibbs deanery in the diocese of St. Pölten . The church building is a listed building .

history

Lackenhof was separated from the parish of Gaming in 1785. The church was built in 1786 in the Josephine style . The church was elevated to a parish church in 1806. The tower and side extensions were added from 1821 to 1837. The sacristy followed in 1957. The interior was restored in 1957 and the exterior in 1980.

In the western gable front there is a simple façade tower with a basket-arched main portal, with the walls showing inscription panels for war victims over the entire height of the portal. The side fronts and the roof of the church are irregular. On both sides, chapels with gable fronts with arched double windows were added with the same eaves and ridge height. A square sacristy was added to the east.

Church interior

The nave has a grooved flat ceiling over a surrounding cornice. At the side there are pilaster-supported arched arcades with openings to the Lady Chapel and Trinity Chapel. The gallery above a flat ceiling is staggered in the middle. The triumphal arch is basket-shaped. The almost square choir has an openwork, grooved flat ceiling over a surrounding cornice in the area of ​​the high altar. To the south are arched openings to the two-storey extension building from 1824 with flat ceilings. In the southwest corner building is the gallery staircase. To the north there is a passage to the hook-shaped and flat-roofed baptistery. The wall paintings in the Trinity Chapel with symbolic representation of the sacraments were created in 1957, as well as the stained glass and several mosaic windows.

Furnishing

High altar

The high altar as a column retable framed with standing volutes and a curved pediment from the 2nd quarter of the 18th century is a former side altar of the Carthusian Church of Gaming and was transferred here in 1784. The altarpiece Trinity with Augustine, Ambrosius and Nicholas and the excerpt image of St. Leonhard was created by the painter Johann Grieß (1859). The Marien Altar bears the statue of the Madonna by the sculptor Ludwig Linzinger (1895). The Trinity altar shows the altar sheet mercy seat around 1700 in a rocailles frame with a halo from the 3rd quarter of the 18th century. The plait style pulpit is from 1786. The Stations of the Cross are from the 4th quarter of the 18th century. The baptismal font from the 1st half of the 18th century with a shell basin on a baluster bears the lid figures Baptism of Christ.

The organ was built by Max Jakob (1890).
