The Lasberg parish church is surrounded by a cemetery in the western part of the market square in the market town of Lasberg in the Freistadt district in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to Saint Vitus - incorporated into the St. Florian Monastery - belongs to the Deanery of Freistadt in the Diocese of Linz . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

In a document in 1125, Adalbero von Griesbach's own church was transferred to St. Florian Monastery. As a result, probably a parish, in a document in 1222 a pastor was named. In 1128 the church was consecrated with Bishop Reginmar von Passau. The next church consecration took place in 1148. At the beginning of St. Consecrated to Andrew, the patronage of St. Called Vitus. 1480 there was a Vogtrecht with Christoph von Zelking. Since 1655 the parish has been occupied by pastors from St. Florian Monastery. In 1626 the interior of the church was partly destroyed by Protestant farmers. The church suffered fires in 1618, 1628 and 1696.

architecture

The important medieval church building shows itself in a picturesque appearance due to the different structural forms and roof shapes. The two-aisled, four-bay late Gothic nave is Romanesque in the core of the outer walls.
