The Roman Catholic parish church in Pöllau in Sankt Marein near Neumarkt is in the village of Pöllau in the cadastral municipality of Sankt Marein in the municipality of Neumarkt in Styria in the Murau district in Styria . history

A church was mentioned in a document in 1293. The branch of the parish church of St. Marein near Neumarkt was elevated to a parish church in 1789. The tower was restored in 1955. 1971/1976 was a complete restoration.

architecture

The two-bay nave - in its core Romanesque - has a baroque lancet barrel vault. The drawn-in front arch is rounded in the reveal. The single-bay early Gothic choir across the width of the nave has a five-eighth end and a heavy ribbed vault with round keystones. The choir has stepped buttresses. At the end of the choir is a narrow Gothic lancet window with a wooden frame and a wrought iron grille. The other windows are rectangular in Baroque style. The three-axis west gallery has a protruding parapet. The tower in the west shows the inscription 1827. The barrel-vaulted sacristy is attached to the choir to the north.
