Parish Church of Predlitz
The parish church of Predlitz stands on a hill southwest of the town of Predlitz in the municipality of Stadl-Predlitz in the Murau district in Styria . The Roman Catholic parish church, which is subordinate to the Patronage of Primus and Felicianus , belongs to the Murau deanery in the Graz-Seckau diocese . The church and the former cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
The actual older church was mentioned in a document in 1331, the choir was built around 1452. The nave was extended to the west in 1707/1709. 1973 was a restoration.
architecture
The Romanesque church building in the eastern area of the nave with a Gothic choir, partly baroque, carries a wooden roof turret with an onion helmet at the eastern end of the gable roof of the nave.
The interior of the church shows a nave under a wooden coffered ceiling with rich, alternating stencil painting light on a dark background from the beginning of the 16th century. The wooden baroque west gallery with parapet fields in second use with late Gothic stencil painting. The retracted triumphal arch is ogival. The narrow one-bay Gothic choir with a five-eighth closure has a strong ribbed vault and round keystones with the dove and lamb of God. The church has one- and two-lane windows with nuns, the windows of the nave have been redesigned in Baroque style. The sacristy north of the choir is barrel vaulted and has a pointed arch portal with a door with iron fittings.
Furnishing
The high altar with gallery portals from the first half of the 18th century shows the picture of Primus and Felician, it bears figures by Balthasar Prandtstätter from the second quarter of the 18th century, the altar and figures were probably transferred here from the Clarissi Church in Judenburg in 1784.
The organ is from 1901.
