Ranten parish church

The Ranten parish church is on a hillside north of the village in the municipality of Ranten in the Murau district in Styria . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to the Apostle Bartholomew belongs to the deanery Murau in the diocese of Graz-Seckau . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
A church was documented in 1155 and was the church of the main parish in the area.
The Gothic church building from the 15th century was vaulted until 1523. The architecture is related to the church in Schöder and was probably built by the same building works. In 1961 the interior of the church was restored.
architecture
The two-bay choir with a five-eighth end has a ribbed vault with a diamond on consoles, the round keystones show the reliefs head, lamb of god , blessing hand. The recessed, profiled ogival fron arch mentions 1523 and shows a coat of arms of Liechtenstein . The nave under a ribbed vault on semicircular services, also towering over the choir in the roof, has five unequal bays and is shifted to the south when viewed from the choir. Profiled pointed arch arcades connect the nave with the three-bay lower north aisle with four-part star rib vaults on semicircular services. The tower is set in the northwest corner, it is Gothic on the lower floors, the upper floor from 1748 has an onion helmet with a lantern. In the southeast corner of the tower, a stair tower with a spiral staircase protrudes into the nave.
The Karner is a Gothic octagonal building under a tent roof.
Furnishing
The high altar with gallery portals has a structure from 1641, 1697 changed by the sculptor Franz Kamerlander, he created the statues Josef and Antonius.
