Parish church of St. Georgen am Ybbsfelde
The parish church of St. Georgen am Ybbsfelde is elevated in the center of the market town of St. Georgen am Ybbsfelde in the district of Amstetten in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church , consecrated to St. George , belongs to the Amstetten deanery of the diocese of St. Pölten . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
Before 1200 a parish vicariate was mentioned, and in 1200 a pastor was mentioned. A church was mentioned in documents in 1337 and in 1368 as a branch of the parish church Amstetten-St. Stephan . Until 1783 the church was a branch of the parish church Blindenmarkt and the Melk monastery incorporated.
In 1911 there was a restoration. In 1930 the floor level in the church was leveled. 1974 was a restoration, 1991 inside.
architecture
The late Gothic church building under steep roofs with a three-aisled relay hall with a west tower and two choirs is surrounded by a cemetery.
Furnishing
The high altar as a neo-Gothic winged altarpiece was created by Ludwig Linzinger in 1902, the openwork center shrine bears the statue of Georg flanked by angels and saints, the wing reliefs show the Adoration of the Shepherds and the Adoration of the Kings , the backs are painted.
The left side altar St. The sculptor Plohberger created Maria as a retable in 1905 with a rosary Madonna and reliefs Annunciation and Expulsion, and Plohberger created the right side altar as a canopy altar in 1911 with Pietà between Leonhard and Antonius Eremit. The pulpit and the baptismal font were created by the sculptor Leopold Neu in 1932.
The organ was created by Orgelbau Reinisch-Pirchner in 1968 in a baroque case with a parapet positive from the second quarter of the 18th century. One bell mentions 1337. Melchior Schurer mentions two bells 1688/1689.
Funerary monuments
- Sigismund Reichard von Lasberg died in 1638 on the north wall of the side aisle.
