The parish church Steinberg am Rofan stands on a hill at the east end in the village of the municipality Steinberg am Rofan in the district of Schwaz in the state of Tyrol . history

A church was mentioned in documents in 1196. 1434 was a church consecration. In 1681 a new church was built, which was followed by a renovation in 1737. The church was elevated to a parish church in 1891.

architecture

The baroque building, which is Gothic in essence, has a Gothic north tower and is surrounded by a cemetery.

The exterior of the church does not show any particularly structured facades, the choir has a five- eighth end . The tower wears a pointed helmet.

The interior of the church shows a six-bay nave with a lancet barrel vault on pilasters. The stucco and the frescoes were created in 1737, in the choir Glorification of Mary before the Trinity and Saints Peter and Paul and Lambert, in the nave baptism of Christ, St. George and Holy Family.

Furnishing

The high altar around 1740 shows the high altar painting Maria and Lambert with St. Vincent as patron of woodcutters painted by Jakob Mayr in 1737, the high altar bears the characters Sebastian and Rochus in 1740 and the figures Joachim and Joseph to 1680. The tabernacle in 1740 shows the reliefs sacrifice Isaac's and Melchizedek.

Heinrich Kessler names two bells 1498 and 1499. Matthäus Herrl names one bell 1485.
