Steinbichl parish church
The Steinbichl parish church is located in the village of Steinbichl in the Frauenstein municipality in the Sankt Veit an der Glan district in Carinthia . The Roman Catholic parish church , consecrated to St. Nicholas of Myra , belongs to the deanery St. Veit an der Glan in the diocese of Gurk-Klagenfurt . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection ( list entry ).

architecture
The core Romanesque and small early Gothic church building with a late Gothic choir has a mighty Gothic south tower and is surrounded by a cemetery.
The outside of the church shows a church building covered with stone slabs. The south tower shows corner cuboid decor and carries a pyramid roof. The late Gothic west portal has a door with iron fittings. The painted tracery frieze on the south wall of the nave has been preserved. The north wall of the nave shows the fresco Christophorus 1533 with the coat of arms of the Kaltenhausers . In the north wall of the nave there is a Gothic tabernacle.
The interior of the church shows the nave, which was originally provided with a flat ceiling, in the early 16th century, three-bay cross-rib vaulted, on the pillars to the south and on consoles to the north. The three-axis west gallery stands on slim eight-sided pillars with ridged tracery on the parapet, there is also a protruding wooden gallery. The retracted triumphal arch is ogival. The two-bay choir with a five-eighth closure has a ribbed vault from the second half of the 15th century. The late Gothic vestry portal has an iron plate door. The choir has three tracery windows.
Furnishing
The high altar and the left side altar were built around 1770/1780, the right side altar in 1719.
The organ names 1670.
