The parish church Tröpolach is a partly medieval church building in the cadastral community Tröpolach in the municipality Hermagor in the state Carinthia , Austria . It is dedicated to Saint George . It was mentioned for the first time in 1228 as a subsidiary church of Hermagor. On May 13, 1342 it was raised to an independent parish.

In 1953 the western extension was carried out, which increased the interior of the church by around a third. In 1976 the church was renovated inside and out, as it was badly damaged by an earthquake on the night of May 6, 1976. In connection with this renovation, a new church tower clock was installed.

In 2003 the nave was re-covered. From 2005 to 2006 drainage was dug around the church to drain it. The church has also been renovated inside and out. Spotlights to illuminate the church were installed on the cemetery wall.

There are two side altars in the church. The left is dedicated to the " Immaculate Conception " and dates from around 1670. The right side altar is dedicated to St. Joseph and shows his death. This altar was erected in 1700. The octagonal baptismal font in the side chapel dates from the Gothic period . The ceiling of the church is characterized by a Gothic ribbed vault with differently painted coats of arms . The belt arches are carried by half-columns that are embedded in the wall. The sermon pulpit was built in the Rococo period at the end of the 18th century. The high altar is dedicated to St. George and was built around 1858.
