List of apple varieties |
The peach red summer apple (synonyms: " Jenaer rose apple", "summer rose apple", " peach red summer rose apple") is an old variety of cultivated apple that is used as a table apple.
The peach red summer apple is a summer apple that is ripe in mid-August and can be stored for about two weeks. The fruits are medium to small in size, spherical to conical, have a smooth skin with a white-yellow base color and a red cover color. The taste is mildly sour.
The variety probably originally comes from France and was first described in Germany in 1837 by JG Dittrich and named by him.
