The plant health control ( PGK ) is used in the import of plants and plant products to the introduction of quarantine pests (QSO) and invasive species to be avoided by control. Its aim is to implement legal regulations on quarantine pests and invasive species, phytosanitary controls at border entry points and phytosanitary controls when plants and plant products are brought in. The introduction of plant-damaging organisms and pathogens is to be prevented by means of random checks.

Phytosanitary inspections are usually carried out by civil servants , the phytosanitary inspectors .
